Smoreverliefd - The ultimate sweet treat from The Windmill

What's better than s'mores? That's right, s'mores from a baking dish! This delicious recipe combines the classic flavors of marshmallow, chocolate, and cookie, but in a warm, gooey version that's ready to serve. With our The Windmill TWM036 cast iron casserole dish and the TWM098 Dessert spices Give this American campfire dessert a surprising twist. Perfect for a night of comfort food!

What do you need?

For 4-6 persons

  • 1 bag of marshmallows
  • 200 g dark or milk chocolate (in pieces or chocolate drops)
  • 1 roll digestive biscuits or graham crackers
  • 1 teaspoon The Windmill Cinnamon Dessert Mix TWM098
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for greasing the baking dish)
  • The Windmill charcoal for an even and long-lasting heat

Optional for extra flavour

  • Rolo's or caramel cubes for a creamy touch
  • Hazelnuts or pecans for a crunchy bite

This is how you make it over an open fire

1. Make a good campfire or charcoal bed

Set the The Windmill campfire set ready and use The Windmill charcoal Or a combination of wood and charcoal to create an evenly burning fire. Let the fire burn steadily until you have a nice glowing bed of coals.

2. Prepare

Grease the cast iron baking dish ( TWM036 ) Lightly butter the pan. This prevents the chocolate from sticking and promotes good caramelization.

3. Chocolate & spices

Divide the chocolate pieces over the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle evenly. Dessert spices ( TWM098 ) over it for that warm, spicy flavour that perfectly complements the smoky notes of the fire.

4. Marshmallow magic

Arrange the marshmallows neatly over the chocolate. Want an extra caramel flavor? Hide some Rolos or caramel squares between the marshmallows.

5. Baking over the fire

Place the baking dish on a rack over the glowing charcoal bed or place it in a Dutch oven stand within the The Windmill Campfire Set . Bake with the lid on for 10-15 minutes, or until the marshmallows are golden brown and slightly crispy on top.

We wish you all a happy Valentine's Day!
