Supplies:
Barbecue pan (or other pan with a lid)
Stove, barbecue or other heat source
600 g beef steaks
olive oil
1 large onion
50 grams of bacon cubes/strips
2 garlic cloves
4 red peppers (or 2 red and 2 green)
flower
1 can of diced tomatoes
100 ml red wine
200 ml beef stock
4 slightly floury potatoes
250 g green beans (frozen is also possible)
salt and pepper
2 teaspoons thyme
1.5 tablespoons paprika powder
Preparation method:
- Chop the onion and garlic and cut the bell pepper into strips. Cut the meat into pieces and coat them in flour, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Heat a dash of olive oil in the pan and brown the meat on all sides over high heat (fry for +/- 5 minutes) and add the bacon cubes
- Add the chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper and stir into the meat. Then add the paprika and cook briefly.
- Slowly add the stock, wine, and diced tomatoes. Stir gently and add the thyme. Cover and simmer gently for 1.5-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Dice the potatoes and chop the green beans into small pieces. Add the potatoes and green beans to the goulash and simmer gently for another 30-45 minutes, or until tender.
