Recipe: Savory waffles with Parmesan cheese

Recept: Hartige wafels met Parmezaanse kaas

Ingredients

  • 250 g self-raising flour
  • 4 tbsp semi-skimmed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 100 g butter, soft
  • 100 g Parmesan cheese, coarsely grated


Supplies

  • Waffle iron
  • Mixing bowl
  • Sieve



Preparation method

  1. Beat the butter and salt with a mixer until thick, white, and fluffy. Beat in the egg and milk. Sift the flour into a bowl and then gradually fold it into the butter mixture.
  2. Knead the dough with the grated cheese and form into six balls.
  3. Grease the waffle iron with a little oil or Crisco and preheat it. Place a ball of dough in the center of the waffle iron and close the lid. Bake the waffle for about 3-4 minutes, turning it over halfway through. Remove any stuck-on bits and grease the iron with oil before baking the next one.
  4. Tip: eat these waffles with homemade tomato salsa with Italian herbs.
