All about our cast iron plancha

Alles over onze gietijzeren plancha

The plancha not only looks cool, but it's also very practical. Its large surface makes it heavy and doesn't slide easily. Use the grill side or the flat side when preparing your favorite food. The plancha is specially designed for use on our Camp Stove and is designed to fit a variety of large barbecues. Curious which barbecues are compatible? Check out the chart!

Camp Stove

Burn-in

Importantly, cast iron needs to be seasoned several times. Since the plancha doesn't fit in a standard oven, it's best to do this on the heat source you'll be using it on. A ceramic barbecue is easiest for seasoning. It's crucial that your plancha fits inside the barbecue so the lid can close properly.

Medium Ceramic Barbecues

Can I also use the plancha on a medium-sized barbecue? We can be very brief about this. No.

The plancha physically fits on it, in fact, it looks good at first glance. But it is important that the plancha IN The barbecue fits, and doesn't rest on the edge. This creates a natural draft, causing your barbecue to burn much too strongly. It's not practical, it's much too hot, and the plancha will also damage the (felt) edge of your barbecue. Your Q also won't close with the plancha resting on it. So be warned.
