Recipe: Potato Gratin from the Skillet
Ingredients:
- 200 ml heavy cream
- 1 egg
- Nutmeg
- 800 g Roseval potatoes
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp butter
- 50 g grated Gruyère cheese
- Salt and pepper
Additional Needed:
- Skillet with lid
- Briquettes
Instructions:
- In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, egg, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Rub the inside of the skillet with the clove of garlic and grease it with butter.
- Slice the potatoes and layer them in the skillet like shingles. Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- Place 6 briquettes under the skillet and 10 briquettes on a lid that fits the skillet. Heat for 45 minutes until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and golden brown.
