Farmers cake from the Dutch Oven
Recipe: Boerenjongens Cake from the Dutch Oven
Ingredients
- 200 g flour
- 10 g baking powder
- 200 g light brown sugar
- 200 g butter
- 4 eggs
- 6 g salt
- 300 g Boerenjongens (drained)
- 40 g syrup from the Boerenjongens
Instructions
- Cream the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well to keep the mixture airy.
- Sift the flour with baking powder and salt, then fold into the mixture.
- Mix the Boerenjongens and their syrup into the batter.
- Pour the batter into a Dutch Oven lined with baking paper.
- Bake at 150°C for about 40 minutes.
